Shooting Leaves 7 Injured, Search for 3 Suspects Continues

As the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia reels from the shock of Thursday evening’s shooting that left seven people injured, the hunt for the three suspects continues.

Police are confident they have identified the suspects following the surveillance photos that captured the group wearing all black clothing.

Injuries range from a two-year-old girl shot in the leg to a 31-year-old woman shot twice in the leg.

The shooting occurred outside the James G. Blaine School, leaving a total of 28 shell casings at the scene.

Among the seven wounded, a 15-year-old boy was hit in the chest twice and once in the right thigh; a 16-year-old boy was shot in both the arm and leg; a second 16-year-old boy was hit only in the arm; a 13-year-old boy was injured in the hand; and a 17-year-old boy received graze wound on the left thigh. All the victims are reportedly in stable condition now.

Police are looking for a 2011-16 gray 4-door Hyundai Elantra with a Pennsylvania license plate, but the motive and further circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

As the investigation presses forward, the most pressing concern is finding solace for the victims and their families. The community must come to terms with the extent of violence in their city and take steps to prevent further bloodshed.
