2008 White House Contender Imperato on Sharon’s Health, Abbas, and the Elections

West Palm Beach, FL – January 12, 2006 – In light of the recent events concerning the health of Israeli Prime Minsiter Ariel Sharon, 2008 US Presidential Contender Daniel Imperato urged everyone to have respect for Ariel Sharon and to continue with the peace process.

“I call out the leader Mahmoud Abbas to have respect for his neighbor Ariel Sharon and his present condition. Abbas needs to stand up immediately and to request a delay to the elections in light of the fact that Ariel Sharon’s health condition is not enabling him to participate,” stated Imperato.

Subsequently, Ariel Sharon’s health has opened the political window of opportunity for new leadership in Israel.

“In addition, the Likhud party’s loss of Sharon and Sharon’s illness has played into the hands of two particular individuals: Mr. Netanyahu who has unconditionally shown his ability to win the election in Israel, and for the replay of Ehud Barak to fill the shoes of Ariel Sharon proceeding forward.”

Addtionally, Imperato felt that PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas needed to take caution with his people and put a stop to further terrorist involvement.

“In addition I strongly suggest Abbas to look into the crystal ball pertaining to the overall danger and destruction that could take place with the Palestinian People. I unconditionally cannot believe that you, Abbas, would stand for and allow terrorists participation in your elections process. This is unconscionable,” exclaimed Imperato.

Imperato then reiterated his plan that he has touted for months as being a peace plan for the region.

“Without doubt, Israel needs to stay a unified country with a Palestinian state being implemented within the governance boundaries and security of the country of Israel with the cooperation of the United States of America. There is a clear danger ahead with a mixture of terrorists’ participation in the election and instability with the leadership of Israel.”

In order to have peace, Imperato stated that everyone needs to go back to the drawing board, and that he would be available to facilitate such a process.

“I call on the Acting Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas to delay the process of election, to oppose terrorist participation collectively, and go back to the drawing board and look at the real issue of peace in the region.”

“I support, as a Presidential Contender for 2008, the mission of peace in the region. I stand ready willing and able to discuss the implementation of my peace plan with all parties concerned.”
