Europe and US join efforts to informal understanding with Iran to de-escalate tensions

European efforts towards de-escalation are quite aligned with the US thinking and should not be seen (despite having come under fire) as an exercise on Europe’s strategic autonomy. It in effect seems to have full blessing from Washington.
